This cozy place is a truly authentic Lisboa Restaurant in the heart of the city. Family run since over 50 years, it serves great traditional dishes and the service and ambience are excellent! And it’s in the middle of lively party area of Bairro Alto, yet at a quite corner. Totally recommend! And: they serve one of the best „Bacalhau com natas“ in Portugal- if not THE best! ;-)
Delicious food in a very simple traditional Portuguese atmosphere. The service is great, with very friendly staff. All the dishes that we tried were very good, and the sangria too.
Excellent family restaurant. This is not just another touristy spot. Here you feel at home. It's the restaurant you would love to have in your neighborhood. Both the octopus and the fried chicken were delicious, among the many Portuguese specialities. Highly recommended.
My absolute favorite reataurant in Lisboa. Family Owned for over 40 years. The owners speak English well too. The menu is extensive. Tonight, I had the baked cod shred special of the house. Grilled octopus was spectacular. Grilled cod melts in your mouth. Berry sangria was amazing. I can't say enough great things about the food and the owners. I will definitely be back every time I come back to Lisbon. Just had yet another fantastic experience here. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering most other restaurants have increased their prices more than inflation the past couple of years. Highly recommended!
This has been one of my favorite spot in Lisbon for over a decade. Typical Portuguese simple bistro with lots of famous favorites They’re house specialties are people pleasers: “duck rice” and “Bacalhau com Natas”. The average price of a €20, sometimes a few euros less. Like every bistro in Portugal, they also charge you for the transition snacks, aka “couvert”. Bread, olives, portuguedse cheese. Although their selection is great, it is not mandatory and not in polite to turn them down if you prefer not to have them. Sangria’s a great and they have a few options made specifically with sparkling wine, especially if you like drinks on the fruit juicy sweet side. Amazing chocolate mousse. The servers have been here a long time which is critical to understanding how great the owners are. They are Portuguese and speak English, French and Spanish. I learned early on there is a reason famous soccer players and djs eat here. It is simple and delicious and inviting - super important in a neighborhood littered with tourist traps. Its tiny and you can walk right past it, I recommend tondef call ahead to reserve. You’ll have a ton of people watching to do on this neighborhood so try to grab a seat outside. Finally brought my kids here who ate everything (a miracle!) and then spent the time dancing on the cobblestone.
We stopped in last minute and had a delicious dinner! The sardines, stuffed squid, octopus, chorizo, and lamb were all fantastic. The family who ran the restaurant were very kind and welcoming, with great service and recommendations. I would 100% go again!
This small, neighborhood restaurant is a classic hole-in-the-wall place. Not that much to look at, but the food is 10 out of 10. It is DELICIOUS!!! The fresh baked bread and homemade butter are well worth going there. My wife really enjoyed the grilled sardines with boiled potatoes. I had the grilled cod covered with olive oil, pepper, and garlic along with potatoes. Out of this world!!! If you still have an appetite after dinner, the chocolate moose is VERY good. Enjoy!
Very good service. Very good food. Our third day here and this was absolutely our highlight! We ate shrimps and octopus- we love it here! Sangria was 10/10 !! We r coming back
